Privacy policy

This site is run by Aditya Kumar, a sole trader in Melbourne, Australia, ABN 41 525 696 165. This policy explains what happens to information you send me here. It is written to the Australian Privacy Principles.

The short version: the only thing this site collects is what you type into the contact form, it gets emailed to me and nothing else, and there is no tracking of any kind.

What the contact form collects

If you use the form on the homepage, it sends me four things:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Which option you picked under "What you need"
  • Your message

That is all of it. There is no phone number field, no company field, and nothing is filled in behind your back.

The form also carries two small anti-spam measures: a hidden field that real browsers leave empty, and a timestamp used to reject submissions made faster than a person could type. Neither one identifies you and neither is kept.

Your message is not saved to this website or to any database. It is passed straight to an email service, delivered to my inbox, and discarded. If you would rather skip the form entirely, email me at [email protected] - it reaches the same place.

What I use it for

To read your enquiry and reply to it. If we end up working together, to quote the job, do the work and invoice you.

I do not send marketing email, I do not run a mailing list, and I do not give or sell your details to anyone for their own purposes.

Analytics, cookies and tracking

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. It does not follow you to other sites and it does not collect information that identifies you personally. That is why there is no cookie banner here - there is nothing to consent to.

There are no advertising trackers, no social media pixels, and no third-party fonts or scripts loading in the background. The fonts are served from this site itself.

The one thing stored in your browser is a small preference recording whether you chose the light or dark theme. It stays on your device, it is never sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Who else handles your information

Running a website means using other companies' infrastructure. Three of them touch your enquiry:

  • Cloudflare - hosts this site, runs the code that receives the form, and provides the analytics.
  • Resend - the service that delivers your message to my inbox as an email.
  • Microsoft 365 - where my mailbox lives, and where your message sits once it arrives.

Each of these only handles your information in order to provide that service to me. None of them are permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Information going overseas

Because of the services above, your enquiry is likely to be stored on or pass through servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Cloudflare operates a global network, Resend is based in the United States, and Microsoft stores mail across a number of countries.

I have taken reasonable steps to use established providers with their own privacy and security obligations, but by sending an enquiry you should understand it will be handled overseas, and that overseas laws may differ from Australian privacy law.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted from my mailbox after twelve months.

Where we do end up working together, I keep the correspondence and the associated records for five years after the work finishes, because Australian tax law requires business records to be kept that long.

Keeping it safe

Your message travels to me over an encrypted connection, and the mailbox it lands in is protected by a strong password and multi-factor authentication. Nothing is perfectly secure, but there is no customer database on this site to break into - that is deliberate.

Seeing, correcting or deleting what I hold

Email [email protected] and ask. You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct something that is wrong, or ask me to delete it.

I will reply within 30 days. There is no charge for asking. I may need to confirm who you are before handing over information, so that I am not giving your details to someone else. If I have to keep something for the tax reasons above, I will tell you that rather than quietly ignoring the request.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled this

Tell me first at [email protected] and I will try to sort it out. I will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and give you an answer within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with my response, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

If I change how any of this works, I will update this page and change the date at the top. There is no notification list, so the date is how you can tell.
