Fix it · Build it · Look after it

No tickets.
No queue.
Just me.

I'm a software engineer in Melbourne. I sort out the technical side of small businesses: websites, hosting, servers, domains, email, integrations. You don't need to know what's wrong. Just tell me what's happening.

Hi, that's me.
Why I do this

You didn't start a business to become the IT department.

A lot of problems land in an awkward gap. Too technical for the person who designed your site, too website-ish for whoever fixes your computers. So it sits there, and you end up googling error messages at 10pm. I take the whole thing on: work out what's actually wrong, explain it in plain English, then fix it.

Things people email me
“My website has stopped working.”
“Someone built this and now I can't reach them.”
“ChatGPT reckons it's a plugin problem.”
“My emails have gone strange.”
“The site takes forever to load.”
“I need this thing to talk to that thing.”
“I don't even know who my hosting is with.”
“Can you just sort this out?”
Services

What I do, in three parts.

01 / Fix

Work out what's wrong

Something is broken, slow or behaving oddly and nobody can tell you why. I find the actual cause before recommending a fix, rather than guessing at it.

Broken sites and strange errors
Slow pages and server load
Hosting, DNS, SSL and domains
Projects abandoned by someone else
02 / Build

Build the thing you need

Websites and the custom bits around them. WordPress where WordPress makes sense, proper code where it doesn't.

New sites, start to finish
Custom features and functionality
Integrations with tools you use
Small internal tools and automation
03 / Care

Keep an eye on it

Optional, and only if it's useful to you. Once the job is done, I can stay on and keep the thing running.

Hosting, backups and monitoring
Updates and security
Small changes as you need them
Someone to email when it's odd
Selected work

A short list, on purpose.

A few of the jobs that show how I work: what was wrong, what I did, what changed.

How it works

How this usually goes.

Step 01

Tell me what's happening

In your own words. "It looks wrong on my phone" is a perfectly good brief. You don't need the right terminology.

Step 02

I look into it

I find out what is actually going on and explain it in plain English: what it is, what it will take, and what I'd do about it if it were mine.

Step 03

We agree, then I do it

You know the cost before I start. Then I fix or build it, and let you know when it's done.

Step 04

Or I keep looking after it

Only if that's useful. Plenty of jobs end at step three, and nothing here is a subscription in disguise.

In their words

“My site had malware in it and I had no idea where to start. Aditya sorted it out, chased down the old provider for me, and kept me in the loop the whole way.”

Rose Carbone · The Rose Approach

“It can be stressful when your business website suddenly isn't working, but Aditya made the whole process really straightforward. Right from the beginning he asked what my preferred and easiest form of communication was, and kept in touch that way the whole time. The pricing was extremely fair for the amount of work involved, and there were no surprises along the way.”

Tara Tinsey · Cute as a Button Dog Grooming

“We opened with no website and nobody here to look after one. Aditya built it and still looks after everything behind it. I send changes through and they're usually done the same day.”

Site on fire? Or just annoying?

Either way, write to me. You don't need to work out what kind of problem it is first, or use the right words for it. Describe what you're seeing and I'll take it from there. I read every message myself and usually reply within one business day.
