Pan Medical Centre
A brand-new clinic with no website at all, and nobody at the practice to look after one.
What was wrong
Pan Medical Centre opened in Thomastown in 2025 with a Google listing and nothing else.
If you were a patient, that meant there was no way to find out the opening hours, whether they bulk bill, whether you could walk in, or when pathology was on. No online booking either. The clinic wasn’t connected to HotDoc, so every appointment had to go through the phone.
Nobody at the practice had tried to fix it, because nobody at the practice does this for a living. They’re doctors and a practice manager. Dr Panwar was my GP, and he knew I worked in tech, so he asked.
What I did
I bought the domain, set up the hosting and built the site.
It covers the things patients actually ring up to ask: hours, fees and billing, pathology and immunisation times, the services the clinic offers, who the doctors are, and after-hours care. Online booking runs through HotDoc, so appointments happen without anyone picking up the phone.
There are separate pages for the surrounding suburbs the clinic serves - Lalor, Epping, Bundoora - because that’s how people search when they’re looking for a GP near them.
The practice sent me some photos and sat through two meetings. That was the whole ask. No content briefs or logins to learn.
What changed
Dr Panwar’s told me patients now turn up already knowing the opening hours and knowing the clinic takes walk-ins. That was the point of the exercise; the questions that used to be phone calls now get answered before anyone picks up.
The clinic still doesn’t have anyone technical, and doesn’t need one. When something needs changing (pathology times, a new banner, a policy update), Lyn or Dr Panwar text or call me. It’s usually done the same evening.
No ticket or support address. They pay once a year and that’s the arrangement.
